About two hours from Seoul lies an abandoned resort in the city of Chung-ju, surrounded by a picturesque landscape of mountains and water. Once a beautiful resort that looked like something out of a painting, it now sits in decay, forgotten and left behind.
Originally opened in 1992 as a large-scale condominium complex with 270 rooms, the resort was designed to be a comprehensive leisure destination. In 1999, it expanded to include swimming pools, water sports facilities, sports fields, and villas, becoming a full-fledged resort combining tourism and entertainment.

However, due to financial difficulties, the resort was forced to shut down just a few years later. Despite several attempts by different investors to revive and reopen it, the resort never operated again. Today, it remains abandoned — one of the largest derelict buildings in South Korea, with an estimated investment of 400 billion KRW (around 300 million USD).

The first to third floors were once used for banquet halls and conference rooms.
From the fourth floor onward, the space was used for guest rooms, and the 20th floor housed a bar.
On the roof, there’s a helipad and maintenance facilities.

Although there are signs warning against entry, there are no guards on site, and the property is loosely secured, making it an easy target for urban explorers.
